Some Go The Extra MilePosted by Bettina (Los Angeles, United States) on 25 April 2010 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio. On Ventura Boulevard in North Hollywood a simple sign is not enough. What kind of meeting would this have been?

@Danièle: It's true! A King Kong car wash. Very dangerous. :) @Manola: Thank you!! :) @Larry Lefever: I know. I mean, who do you call for this?? Go through the yellow pages looking under giant limbs? @✿ Anina ✿: Thanks so much! The b/w somehow captured the absurdity even more. @Jaap: Thanks! They buried Gulliver in the Valley. :) @Lougris: Haha. Not very practical, no. By the time you get the car down, the day is over. :) @Marlowe: Yes. :) @STEED: Of course!! :) @LauraS: Thanks! This is a "valley" kind of thing. In LA proper you'll only find giant doughnuts and giant hot dogs, but giant hands are reserved for the "other side". @Sarah: Lol. They broke the bank with that one. :0 @Mark Johnson: It's not enough that someone thought of a giant hand. Someone also had to say, "Let's let that hand hold our sign, and then we'll put a car on top!" @corpusmind: Song. Which one?? :) @Gary: The manicure contract... :) It is hard to miss, but I did try a few angles. Not easy to do justice to a giant hand. @Michael: Ha. I hadn't even noticed! @metti: Thanks, Mehdi! @Earnest: Damn straight! @Dana: Is it controversial? I had no idea. And you're right. It is Studio City. I was remembering being further East. :) @M@ndy: I didn't use one, but it wasn't easy. It took quite a few shots and holding my breath. :) |
