Rollers

Posted by Bettina (Los Angeles, United States) on 24 October 2011 in Documentary & Street and Portfolio.

When I exited the store police cars suddenly descended from all sides with their rollers flashing. They parked in the middle of the streets and cops poured onto the sidewalks. Suddenly people were being arrested all over the place. I couldn't figure out how they even knew who to arrest. But they went right for certain individuals who didn't even move, or try to get away, as though expecting to be arrested. In all a very odd scene...
...
Sorry for the cliff hanger. But I have more work than I realized.
...
One more day and I can finish my script and finish this story!

Ralf Kesper from Attendorn, Germany

Wow, what a night to be caught up in the middle of it all! Many parts of this shot are interesting, but my eye is drawn to the reflections of all the little lights on the hood of the police car...

Listen to those engines roar

Looks like angels have come down from Paradise
Jolly coppers on parade

24 Oct 2011 4:42pm

@The Mouse: Shhh, no it isn't your imagination. Then you're the mouse who's up early in the morning, are you? I was going to post and then realized I was just going to be too busy. So I cravenly took it down again.

24 Oct 2011 4:56pm

Curly from South Shields, United Kingdom

So very surreal that it should all be happening around a photographer, as though it was just meant to be!

24 Oct 2011 5:53pm

@Curly: It's funny because there are so many days that I see police accompanying a production company filming some film downtown, and this time it was real.

DowsherVision from PARIS, France

Phil David Morris 2011 from Saskatoon, New York, Canada

It sounds like you were in a movie, although the fumes lead me to believe otherwise.
Certainly if not, life wrote a perfect script for this mystery. I love the photos, somewhat
almost dated colours, but fantastic and I love it. Your night photos are truly spectacular,
something I would expect to see in a gallery, so you are doing 100 per cent, your photos
are always something special, and I always get a treat just by coming into your home
space. 5*****'s !!~

Can strongly sense the feeling of a scripted reality in this moment . . worlds collide on the street more often than we might realize.
