The Eiffel Tower in the far distance. Little did we know how much traffic would make that ride a ride from Hades.
It's hard to make the leap back to color at this point. I will, though, I promise.
She is always there waiting for us

Paris traffic is uniquely revolting

Beautifully composed. That's why they invented the metro :)

Lovely, tones and composition

Au moins, en auras-tu profité pour rencontrer quelque ami(e) parisien(ne) ?
7 Jul 2012 8:44am
@Christian Richer: Where were you, Christian? I looked all over!
strange how it takes on the appearence of a crane, in a certain light.

Great, lovely place go visit
7 Jul 2012 9:28am
Ah, yes, the mixed pleasures of city life . . I find the first rule is 'make no plans' !
7 Jul 2012 9:29am
... Sur les toits de Paris.... :) Superb!
7 Jul 2012 9:31am
It would be prudent for you to take better a helicopter to get there in time :) Superb view. Bettina nice day.

Love the diluted colours here, a unique view, not the normal hustle and bustle
of Paris, what a long ride it sounds, so much time to plan and so little time to
do what you planned when you got there.

Superb original image of this wonderful city

Sally and I were saying that's a helluva drive with the Germans and Belgians on your bumper, takes a bit of getting used to.
Long way from Berlin to Paris, still, an experience though!
This looks like the view from the peripherique.
7 Jul 2012 3:52pm
@The Mouse: I took the southern route through Frankfurt, so I avoided the Belgians. And that put me on the Autobahn even longer. Nothing like flooring it in your little Opel as you see that Audi coming at you at double the speed... Luckily I'm (originally) German. But I can attest that rocking to and fro in your seat does not make the car go faster.
I love Paris. My oldest boy is working there
@Sally: At something Disney? We drove past the sign. Is he having fun?
Great frame and fantastic rustic colors; the photo made the ride worth it! Great shot!

"Where were you, Christian? I looked all over!"
Aha! Thank you for the humor! But I'm not Paris! I am Le Havre, near the sea, 220 kilometers from Paris. You follow the Seine and you arrive home!
7 Jul 2012 4:12pm
I like this image - with the tower peeking out in the background.
7 Jul 2012 4:43pm
Interesting comments on the traffic, I went in the middle of winter so it did not seem so terrible. It does look very far away.
7 Jul 2012 7:55pm
interessante Ansicht, toll er entfernte Eiffelturm - die blasse Farbe passt ausgezeichnet

Oh Bettina, you've made this so full of drama and sense of humor! Refreshing idea beautifully executed! Cheers!
8 Jul 2012 1:59pm
Montparnasse tower on left and Eiffel tower on right.. Hum.. May be you were in the east of Paris. Nation's place? Or république's place? Wathever, I dont recognize the in the middle. :)
8 Jul 2012 8:04pm
What I didnt recognize? The crane! :)
8 Jul 2012 8:07pm
Comme vue d'un autre Pays ou d'une autre ville...une vision très interessante et inhabituelle.
9 Jul 2012 11:12am

@Sally: Tell him I have a friend who started at Disneyland as an usher and greeter who worked his way up to running the Special Effects company for Geroge Lucas. It can be done!
I see the tower, I do... great share.
9 Jul 2012 8:25pm
The desaturated color is a perfect choice for this street scene. A lovely shot. I'm loving this series so much.
