Easy Going

Posted by
Bettina (Los Angeles, United States) on 8 May 2010 in Documentary & Street and Portfolio.

On Maple and 5th Street. A smaller side street downtown which dead ends on 5th. The street life is oddly vibrant at this juncture, as though the energy collects at the T. With skid row close by, a parade of characters walk past when you stop for the light. You are, of course, driving. Windows up.

NIKON D60 1/400 second F/5.0 ISO 200 105 mm (35mm equiv.)

Dulcie from Danville, CA, United States

She, unlike the sign, does NOT look easy going.
How did you have the nerve to take the shot. Brave girl...be careful !!

8 May 2010 6:14am

@Dulcie: It's one shot with the zoom, the light about to turn green... ;)

Phil David Alexander Morris from Saskatoon, Canada

Only you with your sense of humor could conjure up this sight. You have outdone Zorilla on this one. What an expression! I swear I bumped into her on the New York subway! I love the way she stands out with little things like the print on her coat.

8 May 2010 6:20am

@Phil David Alexander Morris: She's really quite dolled up with the hair clip and the fine crochet scarf. And her frock does have a discreet slit, or split seam, on the side. I'm sure she came in from NY on the redeye. ;)

roeb from rotterdam, Netherlands

8 May 2010 6:29am

@roeb: Good point!

Sonia Nansid from Stockholm, Sweden

Ohhhhhhh! I just love how she displays her femininity! She was surely easy going if she didnt knock you down. Amazing cool and funny portrait.

8 May 2010 6:38am

@Sonia Nansid: I love that you point that out. She definitely fully embraces her femininity, with an attitude to boot.

Ha, ha, you've outdone yourself with this candid capture. The expression on her face is priceless. I bet if she saw this shot later, she'd laugh, too. Very pointedly sourpuss. You have to laugh at it. We've all felt this way before.

she looks shall we say 'street-wise?'
