We have an Eiffel Tower, too. It's in the "Valley" where large replicas seem to be the way to go.

Haha that's a nice one :) Great to see that Paris crossed the ocean ;) Lovely B&W composition, the biker is just at the right place ! Well done :)

Good one. Very funny...though they are featuring French perfume and displaying the Eiffel Tower,
I notice they are still flying the American Flag--two of them. ;-)
15 May 2010 7:22am
@Dulcie: Yes, don't you love that? Went so far to get an eiffel tower, but gotta fly the flag(s)!
It is a little smaller than ours! lollll .... Many saw this image is superb. Good day.

Philip's eiffel tower is brilliant! Also i was in paris a couple of months ago and the real tower is a touch taller than that one.

@The Mouse: Not much though...
The tower gives added architectural interest to this picture. Very nice.

typical american french connection. nice find. reminds me of a smaller dolly version of the artificial vegas fassades. have a nice weekend.

Where is the french flag ? ;)
I give you the French Eiffel tower in LA instead of your californian weather!

Simple and effective street scene.. Funny ET...

I love the 'connection' between these two friends, moving in tandem...the tower is a fabulous touch...and your title is just so wonderful for this great image Bettina!

All you need now is a kissing French couple!
15 May 2010 2:24pm
ah yes "The Valley." I have a friend who took her elderly mother to Switzerland and when someone asked her where she was from she said "The Valley" ;D
the bike rider is great for scale and making it look even more ridiculous than it is. good one!

@clodagh smith: I love that story. That's very funny. That about sums it up for the valley. :)
i've always been a fan of the Eiffel Tower, i'd steal that one home since i cant bring the one in France back ;) great way to capture this is black&white, though.

A little one but a cute one... :-) Nice B&W.

Great image Bettina; I like the kids going by. I guess if your business relates strongly to Paris there is no better way to show that than a bell tower in the shape Paris' most famous landmark!

Good idea to put it on a roof to have it bigger, stupid French put ours on the plain ground ;))
I like the cool attitude of your new duet here.
16 May 2010 8:12am
@k@: I know. You could have saved so much steel! Thanks for pointing out the duet again. I always find these themes emerge without meaning to. Pairs are on my mind, I guess. :)
I like it :)

I need to take a snap of this miniature replica of Statue of Liberty in El Monte, here in the San Gabriel Valley. I have to agree, a lot of replicas in the LA Valleys, what's up with that?
