I was driving up Alvarado Street, through the busy part, at McArthur Park. There's always a lot of foot traffic on the sidewalk and it's a colorful and busy place. This shot was walking past very quickly, but I just had to get it, even with a car in the way.
@Dana: It's the odd glowing end of his cigar. Her lipstick to match was too great.
@clodagh smith: I love Martin Parr and appreciate the reference. It's true there's a certain colorful pushing of the envelope here. She may be both. They often are. Start as one and end as another.

@Denny Jump Photo: That's Tony Montana from Scarface. I loved her bright red lipstick matching the odd red tip of his cigar. And this really was a capture. She was moving fast. :)
@k@: I know what you mean. I always see the child in the person, in order to understand the path their life has taken. It's the backstory that always makes the character, whether we ever see it or not. We always sense it, and it always results in what it results in. Funny and sad. Like life.
