Jazz Concert

Posted by
Bettina (Los Angeles, United States) on 9 August 2011 in Architecture and Portfolio.

In the nick of time I made it back to see my son play the drums in the concert at the Colburn School of Performing Arts, just across from Disney Hall...

OOh, nice that you got there in time to see him in action.

MissT from Chicagoland, United States

With all these guys onstage, the red of the drums really draws attention to your son - ...as if drummers are ever lacking attention :) He's also by far got the best look going on, as far as looking the part of a jazz musician!

Denny Jump Photo from Easton, PA, United States

This is beautiful, Bettina! There he is - I don't even know him but it still makes me proud - I feel as though I know him. Watching his charts and playing with ease - I love to see kids at least learning about Jazz...even if they don't play, they will remember and appreciate....I am salivating over those conga drums esp the dark ones on the left! Great shot B!

9 Aug 2011 11:55am

@Denny Jump Photo: Thanks for those sweet words, Denny. He was the only drummer playing for the two advanced jazz bands this summer. First time at the top level. And I was very proud!

DULCIE from Danville, CA, United States

A wonderful group, hope you show us more...yes, as someone said, your son has a great look going on...probably sounds good, too !! :-)

9 Aug 2011 8:56pm

@DULCIE: Sorry I don't have more. I hesitate take a lot of pictures because the shutter is quite loud. In a concert hall it can get in the way... but next time... I'll sit in the back and bring the zoom. :)

9 Aug 2011 10:33pm

Roman from Thiersee, Austria

10 Aug 2011 11:32am

@Roman: Ja so kann das auch gehen. Mein Sohn spielt schon seit er 3 ist. Da konnte ich nichts machen. ;)
